Though I despise most of what I draw, a part of me feels like I have improved over the last couple years.  That's something to feel good about. What frustrates me is I still think it's all garbage. Flailing at myself in a rage accomplishes nothing, so I feel I should lay out and pursue some concrete goals in the coming months. 1.  Draw more often 2.  Use more reference (use ANY, stop being lazy) 3.  Don't be so afraid of screwing up that I stop working on something once it gets to a certain point.  Jump in, and try for some fine detail passes. 4.  Don't be so critical of myself, and try to have more fun painting.  Maybe then I paint more o

I don't know why big, round, even-number milestones are so exciting, but...  that's how it goes. I haven't been posting as much stuff lately, as I am working on illustrating a children's book. Yah.  Weird.  Someone commissioned me to illustrate an actual book! There are 21 illustrations in all.  One of them will end up being the cover.  I have been doing the entire thing with Painter 12, and a little bit of Sketchbook Pro 2011.  When it is complete, I have permission to post it all here.  So... look forward to that I guess.  All ONE of you :D - Jason

Hey it only took 6 years!  If I keep at it, maybe one of my deviations will even get triple digit views (e.g 100)! This place is ruthless on low talent artists! But, that's OK.  I am not a quitter.  I can see improvement from my first upload, to my recent uploads.
